Shelby

Shelby (she/her) joined the Linworth UMC staff in 2017 and became a member in 2020. She currently serves as the Director of Youth & Media Ministries, where she brings a passion for creativity, connection, and theological reflection to her work. Shelby cares deeply about helping people encounter a faith that is honest, liberative, and rooted in grace.
As a queer person and a theologian-in-training, she is especially committed to creating space for those who are deconstructing, reconstructing, or recovering from church hurt. Her ministry interests include biblical scholarship, decolonizing mission, and exploring how the church can embody justice and belonging in tangible ways.Shelby holds a B.A. in Religion from Capital University and is currently pursuing dual master’s degrees—an Master of Theological Studies and an Master of Arts in Public Theology—at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO).
When she’s not working, Shelby enjoys quiet creative projects, good storytelling, and time spent with loved ones.
