Do You Have Musical Gifts?
If you enjoy traditional church music styles, and have interests in either singing or playing handbells, you should know that rehearsals begin again in early September for both groups. Chancel Choir rehearsals resume September 7 at 7:15 p.m. We have openings for all voice parts: soprano, alto, tenor and bass. This is a friendly, welcoming group open to all ages, from high school through adults. We sing at 8:45 a.m. every Sunday from September through June and occasionally at the 11:30 a.m. services as well. In addition to regular worship music, we prepare for special services and events at Christmas and Easter, and usually do a Music Recognition service in early June. Rehearsals are 90 minutes and childcare is provided. Please consider prayerfully if you can share your gifts in this ministry. If you prefer to be involved only in the seasonal events, that can be arranged, too. Watch for announcements in the bulletin. Reverberation Ringers rehearse with director John W. Orr on Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. in the Worship Center. They play approximately once a month at the 9:00 a.m. worship service and support special music at Christmas and Easter. There is a flexible rehearsal option so many ringers can be involved throughout the year, as their schedule permits. The Reverberation Ringers are always excited about adding members to the group which include middle school age through adult. If interested, or if you have specific questions, please contact John W. Children's Choir beginning with a Retreat on Friday, September 8 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. then rehearsals will start for the Cherub (K-2) that Sunday at 11:30 a.m. which is September 10. The Angels (3-6) will begin rehearsing on the following Sunday on September 17 at 11:30 a.m. Any child interested may join and there will be information packets for the parents at the Retreat.
