Dear Linworth UMC Community of Faith,
1 Corinthians 12 verse 27 says, “Now you are the body of Christ and each of you is a part of it.”In the 12th chapter of Corinthians Paul is telling us that the way God designed our own bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church. Only as you accept your part of that body does your “part” mean anything.
We believe that our bodies can make a difference when they pray, serve, give and are together. Therefore, we invite you to be present for five Sundays in October and November as we explore together the difference “Everyone in Ministry” can make. Here’s what we will be doing these five weeks!
October 14 PRAYER
- Morning Message: Everyone Praying
October 21 PRESENCE
- Morning Message: Everyone Present
October 28 GIFTS
- Morning Message: Everyone Giving
- You will be given an opportunity to bring your commitment cards forward in worship
November 4 SERVICE
- Morning Message: Everyone Serving
- We’ll celebrate Holy Communion and light candles in remembrance of those who died this past year.
- You will be given an opportunity to bring your commitment cards forward in worship
November 11 COMMITMENT
- Morning Message: Everyone Committed to Ministry
- We’ll celebrate our commitment with a special Sunday Brunch
- You will be given a final opportunity to bring your commitment cards forward in worship
Each week a special video will be shown in worship and you will receive a devotional bookmark. There will be a book with personal faith stories from members of our church community for your family to take home and read. Enclosed you have received an Opportunity Book outlining the opportunities for service at Linworth.
The Everyone In Ministry 2007/2008 Campaign offers us all the opportunity to decide how God is calling us into ministry in the collective body called “ Linworth United Methodist Church.” We look forward to being together these five Sundays.
Yours in Christ,
Members of the Stewardship Ministry Team: Vicki Nichols (Chair), Pastor Terry Heck,
Scott and Barb Saffell, Janet Enck, Beth Anderson, Greg Swanzel, Rod Carney, Denise Kilgore, and Lisa Zumpone
