Short-Term Classes

New Member Classes

Offered quarterly, these three classes focus on what it means to be a United Methodist and a member of  Linworth and the worldwide church.  Participants then choose whether they are ready to join Linworth either through Profession of Faith or Transfer of Membership from another church.

2010 New Member Sessions
Spring Session: April 25, May 2 & 9 - Membership Sunday - May 16
Summer Session:  August 1, 8, 15 & 22 - Membership Sunday - August 29
Fall Session: October 24 & 31, November 7 - Membership Sunday - November 21

Baptism Study

Parents are encouraged to attend a brief baptism study, usually the week prior to Baptism Sunday, to learn more about the sacrament and to meet other parents. Childcare is provided.

Disciple Bible Studies

These 8-week sessions study a portion of either the Old or New Testament.

Beginnings

This 12-week class delves into the basics of Christian faith.

Spiritual Gifts

Using the Network curriculum, this three-week class leads the participant through exercises to discover their passion for ministry, their spiritual gifts, and their personal style.  Participants are then given assistance in finding their “sweet spot” to serve in at Linworth.
